LightWire has managed Year Up's technology infrastructure since 2006, most recently taking full management of all IT systems in 2007. Since that point, LightWire has systematically been redesigning Year Up's national infrastructure across 4 offices. Additionally, LightWire has provided helpdesk services for Year Up's approximately 500 users across each of its offices. Year Up is a one-year, intensive training program that provides urban young adults 18-24, with a unique combination of technical and professional skills, college credits, an educational stipend and corporate apprenticeship. Year Up has 4 offices, and is in the process of opening 3 new offices including locations in San Francisco and Atlanta. LightWire was initially brought into Year Up to provide senior advisory services for major infrastructure to the head of IT for the company. When that senior IT manager left the organization, LightWire stepped in to manage the company's infrastructure across all offices. Faced with an aging infrastructure, LightWire has proceeded to thoroughly revamp the set of systems in the company, including adding proactive monitoring, standardizing on systems and configurations, and setting up the company for it's next stage of growth. |
