Charlie Allen Restorations, Inc. is an award-winning general contractor, specializing in old house renovations throughout greater Boston. Since 1978 they have been helping clients integrate today's modern amenities into their remodeling project, while preserving the integrity of their period home.
Charlie Allen has staff of eleven working out of their offices in Cambridge Massachusetts.

LightWire began working with Charlie Allen Restorations and their staff of 10 to 15 employees and 5 to 10 computers in July of 2007.

In that time we have procured, configured and installed a new Windows Small Business Server and moved their Windows XP desktops and Laptops from a workgroup environment to secure, managed domain environment. This project provided additionaly benefits to Charlie Allen by introducing integrated email and calendar scheduling after migrating their email from a hosted POP3 service to Microsoft Exchange 2003. Additionally, Charlie Allen has gained significant storage capacity and backup / redundancy through the deployment of a modern Dell server, shadow copy services, and backup software. Finally, the Charlie Allen staff has become more productive when working remotely by enabling the use of MS Outlook outside of the office, remote VPN connectivity, and Verizon Wireless cards for the company laptops when working onsite at jobsites.
