|LightWire’s Client VDA Productions was founded in 1986, and over the past 25 years has moved from a themed decor event company to a company that creates and produces Corporate Meeting stages, Museum exhibits, Permanent Themed Environments covering both retail and private residences and Specialty Tradeshow booths. The company employs a unique and diverse full-time staff, which ranges from creative designers, sales executives and production managers, to carpenters, welders, sculptors, painters, lighting directors and audio engineers.
LightWire began working with VDA at the end of 2010, a period during which the company was suffering from almost daily outages from its’ IT systems. These outages directly impacted the company’s productivity and significantly impacted the morale of the VDA staff.
LightWire began our relationship with VDA by replacing and/or rebuilding every single component of the firm’s IT infrastructure. This process leapfrogged the firm into a modern set of systems on all fronts – implementing a brand new Windows 2008 server infrastructure, Exchange 2010, Windows 2008 R2 Remote Desktop Services, and new or rebuilt laptops with Windows 7 and Office 2010 for all staff. Our goal was to simplify and standardize the infrastructure, implementing centrally managed policies and software systems. As a result, the company has transformed to a secure, reliable set of systems (recording zero outages since the systems were brought up), eradicating viruses from the staff computers, and increasing the productivity of the staff while working both in the office and remotely.
More recently, LightWire completed a migration of VDA’s email infrastructure to Office 365, deployed the latest versions of MS Office to all computers, and implemented new Windows Server 2012 R2 servers, iSCSI storage systems, and remote desktop services.
