LightWire provides a range of services, depending upon the particular needs of each customer.

These services begin with senior level assessment, advice, and strategy about a company's technology platform. We refer to this service as a 'Virtual CIO' - effectively allowing a small business to bring in-house the skills and perspective of a CIO without having to hire one.

Building on the advice of the Virtual CIO, LightWire can begin to manage every aspect of your company's IT infrastructure - from managing your network, servers, and desktops to providing direct helpdesk support for your staff.

We believe that the best way to understand what we do is to consider the following: if you had a big IT staff, what would they be doing to make sure the company was a success? Would they

  • Make sure the IT systems meet the needs of the business, both today and in the future?
  • Monitor the systems to make sure they are running properly and resolve problems as they occur?
  • Make sure the risky areas of running a business are being looked after (are the backups running? Do we have AntiVirus protection? AntiSpam? Is our data safe?) and put in plans to help mitigate those risks.
  • Make sure that when there are opportunities for technology to help the company excel, those opportunities are taken advantage of.
  • Make sure that all of the company's employees are as productive as possible - including training them to use their systems properly, and remotely taking over their computer when they have a problem (including the sales team when they are visiting a prospect far away from the office)?
  • Reduce costs for the company by standardizing on equipment, systems, and processes to increase buying power and reduce the complexity of deploying new systems?
